When you're so hurt that it feels like your chest is caving in, is that what it feels like when your heart's been broken?
How selfish is it to want to know that you are not suffering alone and that others are suffering in the same way you are?
...And I can't stop crying.
Is love enough to ignore all the emotional problems someone has?
Is love enough to ignore that person's unemployment?
Is love enough to ignore that that person wants to change but won't take the steps necessary to make those changes?
Is love enough to ignore the lack of a future you'll have together if that person doesn't make those changes?
Is love enough to ignore everything but your love for that person?
Or are you just being stupid, and love isn't enough to make up for everything?
Sometimes, I wonder if I'm actually cynical or if I just hope that I'm cynical so that I don't seem so boring.
If we learn nothing else, we should always remember that we are the ones who have to live with the consequences of our own actions for the rest of our lives, and all that we've done and all we've experienced help define who we are.
I saw this 'headline' on my Gmail a minute ago:
"The only thing we know about the future is that it will be different." - Peter Drucker
It makes sense, but I think it's missing two words. I think it should be that we hope the future will be different.
A lot of people have mentioned that history repeats itself or some other tragic nonsense about learning from history and whatnot. However, it is more than likely and closer to inevitable that history will repeat itself for any number of reasons. And more often than not, it will be tragic.
Therefore, we hope that the future will be different.
Who the fuck do some people think they are to be demanding that everything be given to them on a platinum platter? What makes them think they are actually entitled to anything? They ought to consider themselves lucky that they're getting anything at all. Ungrateful people piss me off.
The downfall of civilization will not be hate nor will it be greed nor even stupidity. The real downfall of civilization will be apathy. The more people who stop truly caring, the closer we come to the dissolution of society.
And I'm part of the problem.
Why do some people believe they're never wrong or that they're never to blame? And why do others around them let them have their way just to get them to STFU? That's messed up.
That's actually exactly how I felt. And that's when my relationship ended. read more
